A terrific group of people who really enjoy what they do - and it shows: in their approach to people as individuals; in their professional attitude when working with organisations; and in their efficient execution of the activity concerned, in our case an abseil. As a team they work very well together and have a positive approach that fosters an affable atmosphere. Each member of the team knows that their contribution is key and their excellent performance as a group reflects this.
Their interaction with disabled people was also remarkable as was their diligence in relation to issues of health and safety together with their commitment to the comfort of the people who were participating. Preparations in the lead up to the event were thoroughly thought through so that nothing was missed, no matter how small. The Outer Edge were incredibly organised and very helpful during the planning stage of our charity abseil. They gave us good advice and loads of ideas that we hadn’t thought about. We had absolute confidence that they knew exactly what they were doing! Considering we had never done this kind of event before we relied on The Outer Edge to alleviate our many concerns about safety and how to run an event like this. Their professionalism, advice and information pack were a huge comfort – they even advised and helped us approach the land owner for permission to use the cliffs. Without this help it would have been more difficult for a small charity like ours to organise such a successful event.
On the day they turned up in more than enough time and were extremely professional and encouraging to all of our abseilers – especially those that were very anxious! Unfortunately I was sick on the day so couldn’t attend – but The Outer Edge staff all mucked in to help our volunteers run the event. They even brought flasks of hot drink for our volunteers because it was a cold and very, very wet day! Our charity supports young, vulnerable adults with learning difficulties and The Outer Edge took each abseiler with specific needs on a case by case basis to ensure they received individual and complete care whilst they made their descent. They understood how important their role is in looking after our volunteer fundraisers and every single abseiler felt very well looked after. I would recommend them to any charity planning an outdoors event – they were at the end of the phone for any query we had and in my experience as a professional fundraiser I have never come across another business that provides such an excellent service.
