Improvised Rescue
In the climbing environment is can be very easy to unknowingly back yourself into a corner, and 9 times out of 10 nothing will do wrong... but would you know what to do that 1 time out of 10? You never know what you're going to be faced with during your climbing, whether it be simply your rope getting stuck or not being long enough, dropping your belay device, or more seriously having your climbing partner injure themselves 200ft off the ground (or the sea!)
The course covers a wide range of situations and scenarios, from the simple to the complex depending on the client's needs and abilities. The instructor will help you to look at the current ways at which you set up belays and manage rope work to see if there are any potential problems/pitfalls. As well as spending time looking at how to prevent situations in the first place, and then methods and equipment needed when it all goes wrong.
This area of your climbing knowledge and ability is definately an example where instruction rules over the reference book. Our instructors will be able to clearly demonstrate the skills you need and the context they can be used in at a pace that suits your individual needs and ability. Our instructors have extensive experience in improvised rescue as well as specialist rigging which helps give them an eye for a solution in these potentially stressful scenarios.
