The Outer Edge is currently in the process of applying for a license from the Adventurous Activity Licensing Authority (AALA) which provides excellent regulation within the outdoor industry for those that provide activities for children and young adults under the age of 18. We plan to offer all our exciting Adventure Experiences and special youth courses shortly.
At present therefore we require all participants to be aged 18 or over unless they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian (a minimum age of 14 applies). A teacher or youth leader acting in loco parentis is not adequate. The parent or legal guardian must complete a Parental Consent Form and will need to remain within sight and earshot of the minor during their activity – this will normally mean that they need to be with the minor whilst they prepare for the activity and during their activity.
